On Cutchogue's North Road, old barrels on a truck celebrate wine made from Pinot Noir, the  "heartbreak grape." The first grapes planted on Long Island in 1973 were pinot noir, and wine made from them can still be found at Hargrave Vineyard (now "Castello di Borghese").
